The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Express Displeasure About Size Changes
Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing.
The second-hand shopping app has altered its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel but did not contact all users about the change.
Digital Channels Backlash
Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration.
The company said the revised method more closely matches similar services.
It has advised users to check their listings and update the measurements by hand if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.
Sizing System Modifications
Before the change, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.

Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she explained.
Necessary Adjustments
Another shopper, from Derby, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item".
"This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she said.
Platform Context
The service features exceeding 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK.
It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: last year, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
